Palazzo Rosso is part of the Museums of Strada Nuova in Genoa (via Garibaldi) and belongs to the System of the Palazzi dei Rolli, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco (go to the historical insight).
A masterpiece of Genoese architectural and residential culture of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, it houses the picture gallery, art collections and historical furnishings of the Brignole Sale family. It maintains the original character of a house-museum and houses, among others, the famous installation by Franco Albini, considered an authentic masterpiece of modern museology and The Seasons halls with frescoes by Gregorio De Ferrari and Domenico Piola.
The collection of paintings features masterpieces by Italian artists including Palma il Vecchio, Veronese, Moretto, Gentileschi, Procaccini, Guido Reni, Guercino, Mattia Preti, Genoese artists such as Strozzi, Grechetto, Gregorio De Ferrari and foreigners, including Dürer, Van Dyck, Rigaud.
From the terraces of Palazzo Rosso you can enjoy a suggestive view of the entire historic city center.
The Auditorium of the Strada Nuova Museums and the Documentation Center for the History, Art and Image of Genoa, which brings together the Art History Library, Photographic Archive and Topographic and Cartographic Collections, are accessible.
