Dedicated to the decorative and propaganda arts of the period 1880-1945, Wolfosonian Museum is part of the Nervi Museums and takes its cue from the taste for exoticism that spread in Italy at the end of the 19th century, to open up to the main artistic currents of the first half of the 20th century, from art nouveau to deco, from the twentieth century to rationalism.
Wolfsonian Museum is part of the Nervi Museums, which also include the Modern Art Gallery, Frugone Collections, Luxoro Museum.
The cultural complexity of the time is documented by the extraordinary variety of preserved objects, the result of the voracious collecting of the American patron Mitchell Wolfson Jr.: paintings, sculptures, furniture, complete furnishings, glass, ceramics, wrought iron, silver, fabrics, architectural projects , graphics, posters and advertising materials, sketches and drawings, books and magazines.
Wolfsonian Museum is the italian partner of the Wolfsonian – Florida International University, an American museum institution housed in a building from the late 1920s, located in the Art Déco District of Miami Beach.
