The area of Piazza Soziglia, in the heart of the Old City of Genoa, was one of the main city markets until the 17th century. It became a social center starting from the 18th century, it housed the busiest cafés in the Old Town. Of which the historical shops remain as evidence, an old café and a confectionery which retains the furnishings of the past (check out the route).
The regal Via Luccoli flows into Piazza Soziglia. Luccoli is one of the noble road of Genoa and today still retains much of its splendor. The road opens out into Piazza Fontane Marose, overlooked by three splendid Palazzi dei Rolli, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and from which strats the famous Strada Nuova.
